Why do some things work better than others?

Have you ever wondered why some things work out smoothly – and others don’t?

What if the answer was always the same: Stay in the present moment?

I know – it sounds simple. But what does that actually mean? How does it look in everyday life, in real situations?

Let me show you with a little example from my day yesterday.

In the morning, I was woken by a neighbor’s dog barking – way too early. I was tired and would have liked to sleep longer. In the past, I would’ve been annoyed. But this time, I simply observed what is:

🐾 The dog is barking.

😴 I am tired.

🛏️ I want to sleep.

That was my reality. I accepted it – without inner resistance.

Instead, I shifted into a state of gratitude – for my soft bed, the new day, the safety around me.

Why?

Because you can’t feel grateful and annoyed at the same time.

And without frustration, maybe I’d even fall back asleep.

I imagined myself relaxing, falling into deep, peaceful sleep, and waking up rested an hour later.

Did it work? Not quite. But I stayed calm, kind to myself – and present.

And often, that’s more important than any “perfect” outcome.
